Our Story
History
Wild West Pizzeria & Saloon opened its doors in 1999 with one simple goal: make the best pizza in West Yellowstone. Our founder, Aaron Hecht, grew up in the wheat country of eastern Montana, and he learned early that great food starts with great ingredients.
That's why our dough is made with Wheat Montana flour, our sauce comes from the recipe Aaron's mom made in her kitchen growing up.
Step inside and you'll find two sides to Wild West. Our family dining room, with its wooden booths and Old West character, is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of geysers and bison. Next door, the saloon is where locals and travelers meet up for cold drinks, the big game, and some of the best live music in town.
Whether you're passing through on your Yellowstone adventure or you've been coming here for twenty-five years, pull up a chair!
Aaron Hecht
Founder & Owner
For Aaron Hecht, great pizza and true Montana hospitality go hand in hand. What started as a passion for quality food and community has grown into one of West Yellowstone’s defining gathering spots—a place where locals, regulars, and travelers from around the world pull up a chair for handcrafted pizza, cold drinks, and a genuine, laid-back atmosphere.
To bring the ultimate dining and entertainment experience to our guests, we’ve consolidated our focus back to where it all began: our original flagship location at 14 Madison Avenue. Unifying everything under one roof allows Aaron and the Wild West crew to double down on what makes this spot special—from our scratch-made pizza menu to a packed schedule of live local music, sports on the big screens, gaming and casino machines, and weekly community events that keep the saloon buzz alive all year long.
Whether you’re unwinding after a day exploring Yellowstone National Park, trying your luck at the machines, or catching a show with friends, Aaron’s hands-on approach ensures every visitor feels right at home. When he’s not at the pizzeria perfecting recipes or hosting the night's event, you’ll find him out making the most of the rugged Montana wilderness he calls home.
